LinkedIn Tired of Politics

Popular job networking social media giant LinkedIn is testing out a feature that would enable users to block any political content from their feed. This feature is currently being tested with select users and would allow a user the option to toggle on or off political posts. Michigan Republicans Propose Social Media Protections for Politicians

Image
Michigan Republican lawmakers have proposed legislation that would prevent social media companies from censoring and removing politicians’ accounts, even if they’ve been in violation of the website’s terms. State Rep. Beau LaFave is the bill’s lead sponsor and argues that all individuals, especially politicians, should be able to freely express their selves on social media. This proposed legislation has started the debate on the constitutionality of such measures. Does it violate the 1 st Amendment of users or the company? This bill makes it easier for banned users to sue the company than banned them. It was proposed over a year after former President Donald Trump was banned from popular social media. https://www.freep.com/story/news/politics/2022/02/08/michigan-deplatforming-trump-twitter/6696100001/

Rep. Gosar is used to facing criticism for his social media posts, as he was previously censured by the House of Representatives and removed from all committee assignments after posting a video clip of a cartoon depicting Gosar killing Rep.
