Rep. Paul Gosar Expresses Support for White Supremacist on Social Media

 


Congressman Paul Gosar of Arizona took to the right-wing social media network Gab to express his support for white nationalist Nick Fuentes, who has been subpoenaed for his involvement in the January 6th storming of the Capitol. Gab was created in 2016 and is notorious for hosting extreme right-wing users that often post hate speech and other content that is not allowed on more mainstream social media sites like Facebook. Rep. Gosar is used to facing criticism for his social media posts, as he was previously censured by the House of Representatives and removed from all committee assignments after posting a video clip of a cartoon depicting Gosar killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Gosar was soon recruited to Gab after that incident.

    This is very disheartening to hear that a representative would openly support a white nationalist. Unfortunately, this is happening way more than it should. I think this is disrespectful to the people Paul Gosar represents. I am also disappointed in the people who elected Paul Gosar into office. We as the people have got to do a better job at learning about the people we vote for before actually casting our votes.

Truth Social Off to a Difficult Start

     Former President Donald J. Trump’s widely anticipated Truth Social has gotten off to a rocky start as many of the newly registered users are either highly inactive on the new platform or cross-post the same posts on other popular social media like Twitter of Facebook. Even politicians who have been outspoken about media censorship and the idea of fake news, such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, have been cross-posting on Truth Social and other previously criticized media apps.
